Chapter 3

Normally, when people wake up from the simulations the administrator tells them the results of the test.  When Beatrice wakes up from the simulation Tori leaves the room for a while after telling Beatrice her test was "perplexing".  If I were Beatrice I would probably start to freak out a little bit if my administrator had to leave the room after I woke up.  When Tori returns she tells Beatrice she's Divergent.  Divergent means that you fit into more than one faction and you are considered very dangerous.  Beatrice's test showed she could fit into Abnegation, Erudite, and Dauntless.  This of course makes Beatrice stress out even more over what she is going to do at the Choosing Ceremony.

"You should never share them with anyone, ever, no matter what happens."

Beatrice walks home after her life altering converstation with Tori.  On the way home she passes through the part of town where the factionless live.  Factionless means that the people failed to become members of the faction they joined.  They are the outsiders.  Beatrice passes a factionless man who asks for food, but then becomes a creeper and grabs her arm.  When he finds out that she chooses her faction tomorrow he gives her a piece of advice.

"Choose wisely, little girl"

It makes me wonder if the man knows about the corruption in the factions?
